Who Excella Is For

Excella Is for Families Who Believe Children Are Capable of More

Excella may be right for your family if you want your child to:

  • Develop independence instead of waiting for constant direction.

  • Build confidence through real responsibility.

  • Learn academics at their own pace while mastering core skills.

  • Practice leadership, communication, and problem-solving daily.

  • Discover passions through projects, entrepreneurship, and community challenges.

  • Grow into a young person who can learn anything, build something meaningful, and take ownership of their future.

Our Three-Part Learning Model

A balanced approach to build confident, capable learners.

Learn to Learn

Through goal setting, exploration, and access to various learning tools, Eagles develop curiosity and grow into independent lifelong learners.

Learn to Do

Hands-on projects, Socratic discussions, and self-paced challenges bring the world into the studios, helping Eagles develop relevant skills and tools for success in the evolving future.

Learn to Be

The Hero’s Journey, relational covenants, and real world consequences transform difficult decisions into virtuous habits. Eagles discover and develop themselves and their values.

Where Young Entrepreneurs Begin

At Excella, entrepreneurship is not a one-time business fair. It is a mindset.

Through hands-on projects and real-world challenges, learners turn ideas into solutions, practice serving others, and grow from students into creators, builders, and leaders.

They learn to ask:

  • What problem can I solve?

  • Who can I serve?

  • How can I make this better?

  • What did I learn from trying?

What You’re Thinking,
We’ve Answered

Find answers to common questions about enrollment, academics, and life at our school.

Is Acton Academy a Montessori school?

We respect and incorporate Maria Montessori’s philosophy, but we are not a Montessori school. In addition to Montessori methods, we use the latest interactive technologies, hands on projects and the Socratic Method for discussions.

What grades do you offer?

We currently offer:

Spark 5 - 7 Year Old Learners

Elementary 7 - 11 Year Old Learners

Middle School 11 - 14 Year Old Learners

Launchpad Launching 2027-28

How long is Acton in session each year?

We operate on an eleven month calendar, but our flexible program allows families to travel together during the year, without sacrificing any learning.

What is an “Independent Learner”?

Someone who can research questions, follow instructions, solve problems—admit that they don't know something and figure out a solution when they hit a roadblock without asking an adult for help — participate in discussions, and strive for mastery.

Does Acton serve special needs children?

We are not trained to serve children with serious learning disabilities but have been able to serve young heroes with dyslexia if they receive special training and believe that many minor learning disabilities are commonly misdiagnosed.

What do you mean by “Every child can change the world?”

We believe each of our students will find a passion — something they love and have a gift to do. They will use this gift to serve others and fulfill a need they are passionate about in the world. This may be by becoming a shoe-shiner who tells stories and makes people's day just by doing his job with love and vigor; it may be by becoming a coach who sees the light in a child’s eyes and guides her to pursue a dream; it may be by becoming a father or mother who leads a family on a Hero's Journey; it may be becoming an entrepreneur or business leader guided by compassion and integrity; or it may be by becoming an artist or writer who brings beauty to people's lives.
